Hi.... new guy with question.

Getting back into spearing after many years.

Interested in pursuing whitefish as well as northerns. Would appreciate any tips/info concerning spearing whitefish.

Plan to try the Whitefish chain/Big Trout Lake area.

Out of the few whitefish that I have seen while spearing, most have come in to a small red and white decoy. Be quick with the spear, they don't sit and stare at the decoy like northerns do.

I like smaller spoons below a spinner for whitefish either black/white or all silver in color.

As far as setting up for a chance at whitefish, do I set up as for northerns and just watch for whitefish to come in? In this case, anywhere on the Whitefish Chain would be as good as any?
