If it is cold or running a lot then the tanks will last about 5 days if you are sleeping in it for that long. If you are on a trip on a lake far from home.

If you are just using it around home and only using it for a few hours at a time then they will last for probably about a month or so.

Always block your house up no matter what. I like to use a piece of 4x4" lumber. I have sleeves for my holes and use them when there is no snow on the lake. When snow is available I bank the house and do not use them. Also you may need to shorten the sleeves. I blocked mine up in the driveway and cut an extra inch or two off the ground.

As far as add ons. I put a pad lock on my tanks, rod holders(dead stick) over the holes. a 12volt plug in clip on fan(walmart) to curculate the air. But the most important thing I did was get a couple of high amp hour batteries to power the house for the weekends.

What i found for the hole sleeves to work perfectly is make four blocks for the corners. I made them with three 2 x 4's. Lay one 2 x 4 flat. Nail or screw two 2 x 4's together and stand them up on the flat 2x4 and nail them together. Kind of like a "t". This gave the house the perfect height to use the hole sleeves with out cutting them.

And yes ALWAYS block if it will sit there for more than a day. They can freeze in which makes it a pain to move.

Also put blocks under the wheels so they are not touching the ice as they are the worst to have freeze in. No fun having to chip around them with out hitting the tire once in a while.

Congrats on the new home away from home, as far as blocking up the house I might start a disagreement but I never block my house and have had it in the same spot for up to 4 days without moving it. Never had a problem with it freezing in and I like it close to the ice. I would visit as many houses as I can to get as many good ideas as possible, you have a limited amount of space to work with and I know after 6 years with mine there are things I would have done differently.

My dad bought a 8x16 trophy hunter this spring, cant wait to get it out. Because he had it custom built, he chose to have camo siding (we pulled it into the woods for base camp during deer hunting this fall) put on. He also had a spare tire mounted on the V-front opposite the tanks. I think we are going to appreciate the 26" HD TV we put in there when the bite is slow.

If you are going to be in the house for the whole time you are using it, don't waste your time blocking it up. I have never had a problem getting mine up after a 3 - 4 day trip in the house. If you are going to leave an turn off the heat, then yes block it up. If you bank the house and have the heat on you will have water under the house from the melting. Once you remove that heat, yep water turns to ice and you are froze in.

I have always had snow to bank my house, so never needed the sleeves....

I have been up on URL in -30, and still never had a problem with my house freezing in (again as long as I never turned the heat off for 3 days)

I rarely ever block mine unless Im in slushy wet snow and water. I typicaly stay on the lake for 3-4 days straight with the heat on, bank it with snow, and crank the house up every day at least partially to break free anything that may try to freeze you in. I havent been frozen in at all yet, but still crank it up every day as a precaution. Shutting the heat off for the day then coming back could lead to a nasty freeze in.

Congrats... !!! NOW ITS TIME TO CUSTOMIZE grin

Here is a short list of what I have done.

I mounted a dartboard that can be taken down at regulation height and length.

Cup holders all around the house.

LED Lighting in the battery compartment and a strip down the middle of the house.

Hole inserts so I dont have to bank the house or worry about drafts coming up through the holes.

Cork board to add all the pictures to... (probably the best one)

Removable table.

The biggest by far is my wind generator.

I can power the entire house (TV,DVD,Stereo) and a 2000 watt inverter, all while I charge the batteries. I dont need the generator as long as I have a 5-10 mph wind, ususally not a problem on the lake!

Satt. dish, fan, curtains, rod rack, etc etc. ... that about does it.

Its a slant core PMA the guts and blades I got at Missouri wind and solar. Tell him you know about the guy that put one on his fish house if you email him... or call. He will know what you need. I'd be glad to help out as well... let me know.

There is a lot I posted last year about this on here... do a search WAY back and you will find it, if not let me know and I can send it to you or repost it.

    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
