Wanzek
Just moved to Minnesota, Hello all very excited about this move. I come from Colorado, Originally from N.D. I am a very active Fisherman and Hunter. Looking for some helpful advice on research material/clubs on pheasant hunting. I have been here for 2 weeks, just getting settled in. Missing the season so far is killing me. I have a 3 year old Viszla that is amazing in the field. My family moved to the Shorewood area. Any advice would be great Thank You all in advance. pureinsanity
do a google search "Pheasants Forever (Your County you live in)"That will get you the best chance of any pheasant club if this is in fact what you are looking for and not a game farm
Wanzek
Allready looking into that. Didn't know if there was something even more local. Not looking for game farms at all. Always looking for fellow bird hunters and friends to do some hunting so thought I would start here.

Wanzek
I have been going crazy on that one too. I had to leave my boat and fishing gear at my parents in ND and I haven't been able to go there and pick any of it up. I would love to get on the water before it turns hard. Hopefully soon. Next trip is going to be to ND to get my gear. I guess that give me time to get caught up in my Jig orders. If you are interested in some awesome jigs let me know too. I am Hooker Jigs... Check them out Hookerjigs.net or on Facebook it will be under Longmont CO.
rwwong
Wanzek, I can take you to a few just out of the metro spots for pheasants. Just West of you, there is some decent public land. Generally, the Southwest portion of the state holds the largest population of birds. Go to your local Gander Mountain and pick up a couple "Sportsman's Connection Atlas." Preferably, both the Southern and Northern ones. This will list all the public hunting land in Minnesota. That will give you a start. We have a great Ruffed Grouse population too that's what the Northern map would be used for. I'm always looking for new hunting buddies, so let me know when you have time, plus my Vizsla is always looking for other Vizslas to go hunting with! This was one of the good days from ND opener, lots of sharpies! What's your email, I can suggest a great fishing forum among other things too. 311Hemi
For the record if you search the DNR HSOforum, they have an extension for google earth to show all the public land on google earth. I may have missed something, but I don't think that includes WPA's.....does it?

JJK
Welcome to MN, and FM. I will second the Sportsman Connection Atlas. I have the N.East and N.Central they are pretty detailed and very useful. They show county land where DeLorme atlas doesn't, and this is helpful if looking to hunt up north. The DeLorme is nice to have also I think shows the WPA's. There are quite a few WPA's in southern and western MN that provide O.K. hunting. You probably all ready know, but if not, WPA's lands are non-toxic shot only. Good Luck, I hope you find what you're searching for. If you guys want company my Wirehair and I would love to get out.How is a pheasant club different from a game farm?
