I live in northern minnesota and have been hearing yotes all bow season long so my buddy and i figured we will kill em! i've got just a couple questions. i bought a hand call of the dying rabbit but thinking about getting an electronic call, i want one with a remote ...any info on some good cheap ones? does a .22 lr have enough power to take one out? if not i could use my deer rifle or my naughty shotty. i read the regs and by the looks of it you only need your small games license, is this correct?? we also got a bobcat and a grey fox on the trail cam and i would love to harvest one of those guys. i'm excited to give it a whirl after rifle season. thanks for the help!

p.s. do yotes and fox have good eye sight?

i think a 22lr is legal... bobcats and gray fox i would leave alone i just passed my advance hunter ed and from the text book they say gray fox are very low in numbers because ppl killed them to try and increase deer population, as for bobcats i think there isnt alot in MN either hence why i wuld leave it alone

can a .22lr kill a coyote, I am sure given the right conditions and the perfect shot yes, use your deer rifle though or your shot gun.

Coyotes and fox (you rarely find both occupying the same area) have great eyesight (like a turkey) and the nose of a deer. There are lots of video's out there to help you get started. lots of song dogs have been taken out using hand calls and electronic calls are not cheap.

You need to keep mind of the wind, conceal yourself well and don't move. Coyotes will circle down wind of you. I have had them circle as much as 300 yards down wind and as close as 50 yards down wind.
