Are there decent bird numbers and public land to hunt in Burnett, Washburn, or Sawyer counties?

I'm looking for bird hunting options when the MN deer season is open. Like the first 2 weekends of Nov.

Check out the Governor Knowles State Forest north of Grantsburg. Lots of public land along the river up that way with good numbers of birds.

Can also follow Governor Knowles south as well into Polk county. Also a bunch of county land up there. Polk county has been doing a lot of logging the past few years, and the aspen(popple) thickets have popped up real nice. Seen a good number picking gravel this year, on my way in bowhunting.
