Aqua Vu Ice pro in open water

I've heard that the ice pro can't be used in open water. What is the reason for that or can you use it in open water? I really like some of the features of this camera but don't want it if I can't use it year round.

I posed an anwser to you in another forum on this same question... will cut and paste here also so you are sure to see it!

With the AquaVU Ice Pro the camera is always in DownView mode.  There is no where to attach a weight or fin to stabilize the camera in open water.  Also, aqua vu did not put thier ultra beefy cable on it because its designed for ice fishing so the camera wont get stuck on anything.  No need for the beefy cable.  I'm sure if you were anchored in one place, the ice pro would work in open water, however, if you were moving... Probably not.  Its designed for ice fishing!  Not open water.
