whitetail #s near exeland

i rifle hunt near there in the county forest , last few years it has been pretty bad as far as seeing deer......is it looking better this year? i hope to get up there around the 23rd to look around , thanks for any info

Not sure about the Exeland area but I'm just north of there and the numbers don't seem to have changed much. Lots of bonus permits over the last few years and high bear and coyote populations killing off the fawns makes it kind of hard for the herd to rebound.

well I hunt Barron Cty and let me tell you I have accumulated 75+ hours in the stand and on various stands and I have seen a grand total of 2 deer. Might as well hang the bow up.

Did you do any better vman? I've only been out 5 times but I've seen quite a few does (maybe 15 or more) and 3 small bucks (two forks and a 6)but nothing I wanted to shoot. If the weather's decent, I might go out in the second season to fill a doe tag but otherwise I'm done, have to work tomorrow thru the opening weekend of rifle season.

nope never even drew my bow back this year. Really depressing. I went out for the last time Monday afternoon and that was enough of that over 150 hrs on various stands and nothing to show for it.
