Honor Flight

I just came back from photographing an Honor Flight for World War II vets from Southwest MN and the surrounding area who visited the WWII memorial in Washington DC. It was incredible - listening to their stories, catching their quiet moments as they stared at the various memorials, pretending to ignore the slightly racy tales they shared with each other. If any of you ever get a chance to go to Washington DC as a guardian or helper for this kind of thing, jump on it. As the wife, daughter and granddaughter of veterans, all I can say is "Wow." It was an incredible trip.

I think it's awesome you got to travel to DC for your job. My dad was a Seabee in Vietnam and would have loved to see that memorial. You should put some pics up Justine!

I even tried to get a picture of me for my avatar up here the other night and did not meet with success. Amazing, since I just took, edited and laid out all the photos for the Honor Flight special section. I can use photoshop, convert a pic from a png to a jpg to an eps, resize, change the resolution, crop, clean, brighten and unsharp mark. I just can't figure out photobucket and the forums. Sad, really.
