Rice Lake, Savage area

Drove past my favorite place to fight for ducks, get rained with steel shot, and watch folks sky bust trumpeter swans this morning and it isn't looking too good. Although I couldn't see the lake from 169, Fisher lake on the other side of the road is flooded out since the river has jumped its banks.

Thinking the once nearly 100% wadeable lake will be sitting about 8 feet deep this year. Yikes. With no dog and no desire to paddle the boat out all the time to fetch dead birds, I am thinking I won't be out there much.

As bad as the competition sucks out there, there are always birds and it's a good place if you can sneak away during the week or late season when the crowds die down.

someone calling turkeys on the lake out of there blind.

A guy wearing blaze orange in the duck blind.

sky busting every single day all day (birds over 100 yards and up) lol!

the list goes on. we use to go out there just to laugh it was entertaining.
