fell into a marsh this morning at the cemetary road access point to the Kickinic River. got down to the water and fished down there despite seeing no signs of fish (bout 8 am) but after loosing 1 hook to a rock and another to a tree i decided to turn back. should've gone back the exact way i came to the water because waist deep on september 30th in a marsh is kinda cold. wish palm would not have gone out of business. their phone, the palm pre, is quite well waterproofed.

So, for other MN or WI trouters who tried this river, how was your luck? Catch anything by the easier access points near River Falls? i went to the access "rec area" that's on WI Hwy. 65 just north of RF the other day and saw a lot of trout action (water was murky so all i could see is that there were many fish there). tried a nasty beetle that tried to crawl down my pants hooked and rubbed in salmon eggs and even a leech smeared in salmon eggs. packin it in for the year. no gas money to head back down there :'(

There is plenty of trout along the whole stretch of the river. You'll have to wait til next year but the tout are in places that you wouldn't think they are. I'm not sure if you fly or spin fish but in the spring 50fish half days are very possible. There are lots of trout in that stretch and not a lot of pressure. There are some hogs in there!!! If you need more info let me know!
