New Camera

Fellas,

I am interested in buying an SLR and looking for a few opinions on what to get. This would be my first and I am new to the photography world. I am interested in shooting outdoors (scenery, wildlife, etc) as a hobby to start. I have looked at the base Canon T2i and Nikon D5000, I am sure I can't go wrong with either. My question is, am I better off going with a less expensive body and getting an upgraded lens right away or getting the T2i or Nikon D5000 with the base lens (top of my budget) to start and upgrading lenses later?
