pureinsanity
Im not sure about the droid. But I believe with the droid you have to purchase the 30 dollar plan am I wrong? This meaning you have unlimited data. So data shouldnt be an issue?I know my HTC Touch Pro 2 can be turned into a Wifi Router. It east the battery but I have just left it plugged in and had multiple cells and 2 computers using my phone as a WiFi hotspot. Dtro is the droid capable of that? or do you need to usb the phone to the computer? I also found a neat little app that remotely lets me view my phones contents via browser and wifi. Basically turns my phone into a wireless shared drive. pretty slick!
pureinsanity
In your app market search the keyword "Tether" than you should find what you are looking for
DTro
With Verizon you have to purchase a data plan with a smartphone. Period. To legally tether your phone to your PC or laptop, you have to purchase another plan which is an extra $15. With phones such as the Droid X you can actually turn it into a wifi hotspot this way and connect multiple devices. PDAnet is an option, but might violate your carriers terms of service (read illegal)

It includes 2 gb data, then normal charges per mb apply above that amount.
