Where are the larger fish

I fish a lake that we consistently catch 10-12 inch walleyes. We fish at all times of day usually between 4-15 feet of water. We always seem to only find these smaller fish. Do the larger fish stay a way from spots where we find the smaller ones. Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks

Walleyes do school by year class. If you keep catching small fish in the smae spots then change up your location. Frequently small and large fish will use the same locations but doesn't sopund like the case in your lake.

I don't know what the lake structure is but try to find either a deep weedline that drops off into the main lake basin or some typical walleye structure of rock, gravel etc that also has very close access to deeper water. Maybe even a feeding flat that drops off. The fish you target may be on the deep side of the drops or they may be up on top, or anywhere in between including suspended. I would look at some deeper water but remember that food still has to be there, just because it's deep that dosen't mean fish will be there. Use you electronics to locate your fish, then fish the fish, don't fish the structure.
