An oxygen profile was done on the lake recently. The upper end of the lake looks fine, but the lower end of the lake (dam end) has little to no oxygen below 5 feet. It is likely that fish will not be found below this depth. Channel Catfish - Fair: Best action has been at night.

Bluegill - Fair: Use small jigs around brush. Crappie - Good: Anglers are catching fish by drifting jigs or minnows out in open water as well as by casting to shoreline structure. There is an abundance of 8 to 9-inch fish.

Ice conditions have been reported up to 5 inches but can be variable. Nobody has been reported as fishing here yet. The aeration system has not been turned on, but is expected to be turned on later next week. There has been some fishing activity on the silt pond though.

The aeration system was started up on Dec. 16, so be aware of open water down towards the dam. There are "Thin Ice" signs surrounding the vicinity. Bluegill - Fair: Fish around brush with a jig/waxie. Crappie - Fair: Fish over brush. First and last light tends to be best. There is a huge year class of 8 to 9 inches crappies.
