eneloop Rechargeable Batteries

If you ever wanted switch over to only rechargeable batteries these just might be the batteries that finally can replace your alkaline style batteries. They were recommended to me by another photographer for use in my flash and now I use them everywhere that I can. They come in AAA and AA size and make a adapters to use in place of the C and D size. Once they are charged they hold on to there charge for months so when you need them they are ready to go.

This was the main downfall of most of the rechargeable batteries that I had used in the past.

They claim that they will hold up to 85% of there charge for a year. They are suppose to take 1000s of charges with out any memory issues as well.

I also use a PowerEx smart charger in conjunction with these batteries so that I can total discharge the batteries every now and then.

I have been using them for close to a year with no problems as far as then discharging or leaking.

The up front cost is a little more but I really do believe in the long run they will save me a lot of money.

On a rating of 1 to 5 these would be almost a 5+
