LMITOUT
I had the same question when I transitioned from BB. Used the memopad to keep lists of various things and needed a similar app when I switched to Android. I found that AK Notepad does what I need. Another app is Note Everything. I downloaded it but really haven't messed with it much to say yes or no to it.
Matt C
Totally off subject... Lmt, do you like the droid over the bb? I have a curve, and got my wife the Bold....but mines comin up for renewal. LOVE her Bold. I really am not into touch screen (my job is full o grease)...so I guess that's been my biggest turn off.?
LMITOUT
I loved the BB when I had it. I had a Curve and then a Tour but the Tour had a bum trackball and it was time for something different and as a Sprint Premier customer the offer to upgrade was too good to pass up to make the switch to Android....especially since BB/Sprint really didn't have much to offer in something new. I'm a gadget freak so I decided to switch to Android to see what that was all about. I like the ability to download the apps that work for me instead of the ones that are provided by BB and their limited app library. The BB is a great device and there are aspects of it that I miss having the Android phone but the flexibility of the Android OS is very refreshing. The BB OS is behind the times but is still a reliable and workable system. Someday I may go back to BB, but right now I like what Android has to offer. I'd guess that you and the missus like the BB Messenger for texting back and forth. This is something that I do miss and my BB buddies are hating me for since I'm racking up their text message limits now that I have to use that instead of the free BBM. It all comes down to preference (obviously) but I would think the touch screen would be better with the dirt and grime than a keypad and trackball. The Curve seems to be very durable in these conditions and now they have the trackpad in lieu of the trackball so that should be a non-issue. Typing on a touchscreen may be a bit of a challenge though. I'm still working on it and still think I'd be better with a physical keyboard. A larger screen also presents the possibility of breaking the screen....more so than the smaller screen BB. That's one thing I've been pretty cautious about. The EVO has a lot of glass so it might not be cut out well for rough conditions.
Matt C
cool. ty. I'll hop into the store and play with one to see. I really like how Droid has soooo many apps vs BB...and can multi task..which is a major bummer with the BB. Reading news...got a txt, must close out, n come back...sucks. The sexting with BBM and the wife is pretty sweet though
LMITOUT
I think that multi-tasking is easier with the BB than the Android. The task switcher handles that quite nicely and something that I liked with the BB. That's one place where BB shines over the competition and that's multi-tasking. I set one of the side buttons as the task-switcher and then I could just tap that and then select which program I wanted to go to. Hit it again and I could go back without losing anything. LMITOUT
I think you need to go into "options", select "screen/keyboard" and then set your left or right side convenience key to "application switcher". I have the left key as this, and the right convenience key as camera. (my BB Curve for work)
LMITOUT
If you have OS 5.0, I believe you can press and hold on the trackball and the app switcher will appear as well.

Wish-I-Were-Fishn
Do you know if AK Notes does categories & sub-categories like the Palm?I see they they also have an app called 3bananas, but don't know the difference between them yet.Did a little research on Note Everything and found an interesting article online about importing Palm memos into it: Copy memos from Palm into Note Everything
