Overall the bite is in the summer pattern. Channel Catfish - Good: Catfishing remains good early or late in the day. Chicken liver and stink baits seem to be working the best. Bluegill - Slow: The smaller bluegills are staying in shallow, the bigger ones are out in the deeper water suspended at 5 to 7 feet down. Fish early in the morning or just before the park closes.

The cool nights are starting to bring the water temperature down. Channel Catfish - Good: Catfishing has been good early and late using chicken liver and stink baits. Anglers fishing along the old creek channel have been having some luck. Bluegill - Fair: The bigger bluegills are suspended in the deeper water. The smaller ones are in shallow if you want some nonstop action for the kids. Crappie - Slow: Crappies are being caught off the deeper brush piles. Vertical jigging with a jig and minnow is working. Expect to pick up four to six when you find a school and then have to move on.

Cool weather has moved in and sent the fish deeper. Rainbow Trout - No Report: The fall trout release is scheduled for October 16. Channel Catfish - Good: Catfishing remains good as they start to fatten up for winter. Dip baits and chicken liver seems to be working the best. Largemouth Bass - Fair: Anglers looking for the bass should be using their depth finders and looking to the deep structure to catch them. Crappie - Good: The fish are back out in the brush piles. Vertical jigging is your best bet.

Rainbow Trout - Excellent: Trout continue to hit on spinners, jigs, corn, power bait, and worms. They are around the habitat in about 4 to 5 feet of water. Channel Catfish - Fair: Catfishing has slowed down some. Try the shallow sun warmed bays with stink baits in the afternoons. Largemouth Bass - Good: Anglers are catching some nice bass while they are using spinners trying to catch trout. Crappie - Fair: Look for these fish to be in shallow around the habitat where the sun is warming up the water.

Angling pressure has picked up with the improving ice conditions. Use caution and drill test holes. STAY AWAY FROM THE BOATHOUSE WHERE THE AERATOR IS KEEPING THE WATER OPEN AROUND THE BOAT DOCK. Rainbow Trout - Good: Anglers are picking up more than a few trout when they are fishing for panfish. Bluegill - Good: Try the around the brush piles. Most anglers are catching them on ice fishing jigs tipped with wax worms. Crappie - Good: Anglers are catching them around the brush piles.
