Best thumb release?

Recommended Posts

I have a Tru Ball thumb release but don't use it anymore.

My style of grip with that release is to have the palm of my hand facing out at full draw with my thumb pointing down.

The problem I've had with it is pre-mature release when I used to drop my arm for close, steep shots. The trigger would get tripped by my collar, chest, shoulder area with my hunting clothes on and cause misses.

For one, that's not the correct shooting style to have and it's been corrected on my end but I've never felt 100% confident with it since. I still keep it as a spare though.

I went to a Scott Archery release that is hand held (no wrist strap) with finger grooves and an index finger trigger. It was about $40 when I bought it and have been very happy with it.
