Ranger 617VS

I am considering buying a ranger 617 with a 150 HPDI Yamaha. What type of speed can I expect. What about a Jack plate, does that increase performance?

diago i have been looking at one too.( can't swing it this year!!) i talked to a couple of different sales reps. we figured with a 125 on it it should run 40-45. i would think with the 150 yam. it should hit mid 50's. maybe a little more. my guess! my 1988 ranger 364 with a 1990 175 johnson runs about 55 -57. your new motor will be cranking more power than my older one, but the fishing style isn't quite as fast over the water as a bass boat style. hope this helps a little. del

Diago - My brother has one with a 150 merc on it. I was out with him once and we hit about 53 mph. He doesn't get to fishingmn too often. Good luck Diago.
