Bucktail loop twisting

Hey folks,

Just curious if there is an easy way to put the loop on inline musky bucktails. I have been using two sets of pliers and lets just say I know there must be an easier way. Thanks!

you can use vicegrips and needlenose to finish with a diamond or square shaped loop, as long as the top of it is in line with your shaft you'll be just fine

Vice grips are necessary IMO for dealing with the .051 or .062 wire.

I believe that production lure-makers have some unique wire-forming tools as well, but these are generally expensive (excess of $100) and I don't know how the work, or if they're just designed for shaping wire for spinnerbaits.
