troutcrazymn
Hey everyone. I'm new to the site but have enjoyed everyones photos and storys for their love of trout fishing. Hopefully I'll get a chance to fish or meet some of you some day.My question is how long after some of the heavy rains we've had is the Vermillion and other river cleared from run off or is the fishing still good. I typically have only used spinners and gigs. In high water and muddy conditions, do you change how you fish or is it not worth it. Also are there maybe certain areas some one is willing to tell me that clear earlier than others. I typically fish east of the Rambling Park area on the pubblic land. I was on Hay Creek a month or so ago and it had been nearly 5 days since it had rained and it was still really muddy. I caught five, missed a bunch more. All your in put is welcome.Thankstroutcrazymn
youngie22
Every river is different. The V is way different the hay creek. Fish can be caught in cloudy water, but I usually hold off for a solid day on the Vermillion to let it clear up. Worms tend to be key after some good warm rains.
