Is the bite hot? Nobody is saying anything.

I've been out on the area lakes the last month and the bass are going crazy! There has been a decent panfish also. Key is to fish early in the morning 6-10 fow then drop to 18-22 fow mid morning. A buddy was casting in that 6'-10' range and he even caught a 13" crappie on an old Lazy Ike!

Any other reports?

The bite is still going. Only saw 2 boats on the water. Caught this 10" & 10 1/4" today.

Those are some nice gills! I don't fish the area lakes in open water. More of an ice fisherman in that aspect. I do hit the croix alot in the spring-fall. A little less now that I have a little one runnin' around. Its always fun pulling those fish through a 6" hole when they are spinning mad!

Nice gills. With this beautiful weather, it makes me sad the boat is already put away. October is just too short, can't do it all.
