roadkingclasic56
I am going to wrap an ultra-light rod soon and have been looking at the Pacific Bay minima 2 piece reel seat. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them as far as performance. I wrap my own rods because I can build in better performance than the off the rack rods. I don't want to put something on my rod that will not hold up and will not give me the sensitivity I like. Anybody tried them?
bemidjibasser
i have used one and like it so far. Mine is on an 8' crankbait rod. just make sure you have the pieces aligned before epoxy is set or you will have a mess to try to fix
roadkingclasic56
Do you troll the crank baits or cast? Wondering how the comfort would be if you were working steady. I fish jigs most of the time so am casting and working the jig. Don't need to get blisters while fishing.
bemidjibasser
I cast them almost exclusively, as I fish bass most of the time. I think it is just as comfortable if not more so than the fuji ecsm seat or a non blank exposed seat. You will get a lot better feel of what your bait is doing if you palm your reel (baitcaster) as you will have 3 fingers on the blank during retrieves in most cases.
