Tour de France

Any predictions on the Tour de France? Will Armstrong win the overall or will Contador or one of the younger guys knock him off?

I don't forsee Cantador winning it all but with the early crashes and a slippery course anything could happen. Lances team is looking fairly strong out of the gate. We'll see if his old legs can handle the Pyrenees, typically that is where he makes his move and humbleizes the other riders. It will be interesting to see how the teams come through the time trials as well, these can add to a lead or cut into it, for the better teams. I am rooting for Lance to win #8, unprescedented and likely never to be repeated. Did Miguel Induran retire? He always was a thorn for Lance throughout many stages of the race.

I'm pushing for Armstrong too. I'd like to see him beat the young guns and defy the whole age thing.

Armstrong has his work cut out for him though. He's had a tough couple of days. Yesterday he lost time to the leaders because of a flat tire. They were riding on cobblestone "streets" that were covered in dirt and dust. The pictures from yesterday's stage look like they're from a mountain bike race.

I'll be following the race over the next couple weeks. Being in 18th he has some work to do to get back into the hunt but I expect the time trials to push him back up towards the top.

Contador wins again. Armstrong had too much misfortune from the beginning to be considered a contender. It also looks like age has finally caught up to him because he looked pretty average, even in the mountain stages.
