Loosing reading at higher speeds

Check the instructions for the transducer installation that came with the unit. A couple of things...Take a straight edge along the the hull to check the depth of the transducer face. Check to see if it mounted so that the water can flow over the face without turbulence from the hull of the boat. Make sure the tranducer is attached to the boat and is not flipping up at speed. Some other things...Check the unit for proper range, sensitivy etc. It can be a lot of things and a lot of little things that come together.

Make sure that it is not lined up with one of the ribs on the bottom of the boat. Also make sure that you have the bottom of the transducer parallel to the water and not to the edge of the boat.

If the bracket is adjustable lower the transducer in the water if it still has room to go.

I hope this helps.
