rra1968
Anyone know where I can get a good map of the Vermillion River in the Farmington area? The DNR one isn't detailed enough. Google maps doesn't show the whole river. Any ideas? Thanks
Scudly
This one no good? Try a delorme too.http://files.dnr.state.mn.us/maps/trout_streams/south/map_15.pdf
rra1968
Scudly, thanks for the Delorme idea. I'll check those out. On a different note, do you have some favorite spots to access the Vermillion? I noticed that the only place West of Farmington to access it are the road bridges. The land around all seemed to be marked Private.

Scudly
You can google "Dakota County GIS map" and give it a try. You can turn on/off features, show aerial photos, land boundaries, and ID landowners. Find on whitepages and call up owner. Explain you want to fish and ask permission. Ask if the owner has any rules, etc. I have not got shot down yet. Most owners are cool. You will feel better too knowing you have permission. So many downed trees it is easier to get out of the water than crawl over them. Many trees create pools way over your head too. Personally I think it is impossible not to touch land. Notice upstream of Rambling River easement. Also downstream of Toro factory easement. HTH!
