I figured I'd start a new thread so as to not hi jack the Lowell one...

Names floated out there that are available...

Cliff Lee, Mike Lowell, Roy Oswalt....

Lee.... it would be great to add him and I seriously think we have a decent shot. I know everyone thinks he will go to the Yanks... and he probably will after this season, BUT why would the Yanks, who have a VERY solid pitching staff, give up prospects and trade for a guy, they may not need, when they can wait a few months and sign him without giving up anything... we may have to give up a Hicks, Ramos, Revere type, a starting pitcher and another prospect to get him... we are built to win now and if he leaves after this year we get 2 first round compensation picks as he is a Type A free agent... I say go for it

Lowell... I like the guy, but I'm not convinced he would be a huge upgrade. Too long in the tooth and I feel like you are getting a trade off playing him instead of Punto... Lowell, some power on the right side, great defensive, some leadership.... with Punto, no power, but switch hitter, averages aren't much different, just as good, if not better defensive player, 99% of the time, great on the bases with speed and hustle... I think Lowell is the WRONG 3B to trade for from the Red Sox... send Beltre our way!

Oswalt.... way too much money and not good enough numbers in a far superior offensive league... I think there is about a 1% chance he ends up a Twin and I am good with that....

Other guys I wouldn't mind that could be available.... Soria(KC).. I know they are in our division, but KC is just so far away from being a winner I think they are rebuilding again.... any decent left handed reliever... not sure what if any will be out there, but a decent reliever we acquired last year in a pretty NON-exciting way was Rausch and he ended up being a HUGE acquisition last year....

I'm sure we will end up with a couple non-descript guys for some player to be named types, but it is always fun to hope that this is the year we make the BIG DEAL.

      got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out

      Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!

      we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
