Mike Steckelberg
I have a 1975 evinrude 50hp on my boat, now the problem Im having is when I throttle it up it wants to bog down and die, but if I switch the choke on it revs up like it should, why is this and what do i have to do to fix it. katophil
running lean, could be low fuel psi, is the ball hard? Could need carbs cleaned.
boatfixer
Main jets in the carbs are dirty, weak fuel pump or air leak in line.I'll put my money on dirty carbs.

upnorth
I would thoroughly check out the hose and bulb before bringing it in. They do go bad and sometimes the check valve malfunctions on the bulb.
