boat insurance/rates

i know we probably shouldnt mentiion specific
companies/rates/policy limmites etc but i got
my renewal forms today.not only is the insurance company no longer insuring boats in
minn but the referral company rates were over
double last years premium.i guess its time to
start shopping.anyone else get a surpise this
spring????????

Check with your homeowners. I called my agent and they recommended 2 different ways. Outright for the boat or umbrella it under my homeowners. It was half the cost of outright. Plus it's pulled out of my escrow...never see it. Hope this helps.

There is a big con about having it under your homeowners. If you make a serious claim, like you wreck your boat or it gets stolen, you could loose your policy and thus jepordize your home owners policy too!

wouldnt want to have an unbrella tied to the house
