Rig question

has anyone ever tried the drop shot rig threw the ice? seems to me it ought to work, just happened to see some bass show recently and they were using this rig in the open water. anyone ever tried it?? with live bait?

I tried the drop shot rig a few weeks ago for crappie. It wasn't quite a fair trial though. I had my two boys (6&4) with me. It made watching the line difficult. I played with it for about an hour or so. I couldn't quite figure out how it should be fished, with or without a bobber. I will try again at LOW in 10 days. I think it has potential, just need to work on the details. I use the drop shot with a rappala circle hook all summer and love it.
