Eagle 642C Question

I have a new Eagle 642C depthfinder/gps combo unit. The unit will freeze and not start with my Lakemaster chip in it, but it will work when I start it and the insert the chip. This is getting annoying to say the least, is there a setting I need to update, or is this just another in the long list of Lowrance issues?

Ours starts fine with the Lakemaster or Nav chip in it. We even have two of them, and both start fine. Do you have the 1.6 version update? We do, I wish we didn't because the 1.3 never had the losing bottom problem in shallow water issue that we now have. Good luck!
