Navionics for Android

Recommended Posts

Finally, they are starting to roll out the Android apps! When I emailed them about it this spring they told me good things come to those that wait, so I guess they were right. So far they got the east coast and Mediterranean on the store so it won't be long before its available for the rest of us. It looks so sweet on the iPhone so I bet it will be money on android.

Its so sweet to have that on a phone. It will not replace my regular GPS but it sure will be nice to have the option in case I'm on a impromptu trip since I always have my phone on me.

Agreed. The convenience of it is fantastic. Who doesn't carry their phone with them 99% of the time?

When I upgrade this summer I will get it for sure!!!

They finally got the lakes north app out today. It took quite a while to download but it seems pretty sweet. The controls are different than what I would call ideal but i suppose like anything else it will be nice once I figured it out. For 10$ I will take it smile

What is the name of the app? What version of android are you running? I have 2.1 on a htc Hero (Sprint) and really want this. I found a bunch of apps but not one with a name anything like you mentioned.

Thanks for any help you can give.

The name for the app on the market is exactly- Lakes: US North - if you can find any Navionics app click on it and search navionics under publisher and you will find it. Make sure your not getting the Marine version!

If you figure out how to mark your current position let me know. That is the only real gripe I can think of so far is that I can not figure out how to do that. I have had it for all of 2 hours so Im still figureing it out.

I got a Droid with 2.1. If they got the marine apps out then it wont be long and they will have the lakes apps.

On Navionics HSOforum the say that it will be out for all android 1.6 or greater. If its not available to you in a week then email them to see what's up.
