New Furnace/Stat....now A/C doesn work...Help..

Recommended Posts

I am sure its easy since its only two wires from the air conditioning unit.

Trane VX95

Honeywell VisionPRO IAQ Thermostat and Equipment interface module

Two wires are coming from the A/C unit and connect to the main motherboard in the furnace, locations labeled B/C and Y.

Is this correct? How do I know where they go? I have looked through the manuals but dont see anything regarding AC.

Thanks

Yeah, I know, dont really need it now but wouldnt mind it this weekend when its in the 80s. I added a picture.

Yes, the breaker is on. I even cycled it off and on again. Interesting. I cant imagine the Tstat would have crapped out already.

Ok, bonehead of the year award for me! smile

HVAC guys that installed the furnace tested the A/C during install last october then pulled the outside shutoff before they left. Fixed. The heats getting to me already!

Time for a 12 oz!

is it pretty straight-forward where the two wires plug into the AC unit?

Reason I ask is because it appears the HVAC guys forgot to connect it up last fall when our house was built (there's a spool of two lead wire hanging out of the house right next to the AC unit). I have verified that the unit does not kick on when the t-stat is set to cool and the breaker is on.

They wont be able to come out till next week to hook it up and I'd like to have AC ready to go for the heat-wave we're going to get. I'm not worried about voiding any warranties here either...
