Himmingbird 788 problem

Dan L

Question

I have a new Hummingbird 788. It does not read right in water less than about 10 feet. The digital display will vary about 6 feet within a second. Also I get a double bottom reading on my graph. I turn down the sensitivity but that does not help. I made the adjustment recommended by Hummingbird but it did not help. My other option is to reset everything. Anyone experience this?

This is apparently a problem that is being looked at and hopefully corrected in the next software update. I personally do not have this problem, though if the sensitivity is too high thick weeds will appear to be a first bottom (however the display still reads the correct depth). Perhaps you could try switching between 83kHz, 83/200kHz, and 200kHz. Make sure switchfire or whatever is off as well.
