what's the deal with cedartone pressure treated decking?

I'm getting ready to go pick up the decking as I expect the framing to be done on the new deck tomorrow. Up until now, I had been set on going with 5/4x6 cedar boards, but I have many people telling me not to use it for maintenance reasons.

During one of my many lumber yard trips recently, I came across some cedartone pressure treated decking. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm only finding it in limited quantities, and am wondering if they are phasing it out for some reason.

If anyone has any information on it, I would love to hear your experiences. My mind is not completely made up on the decking material other than I have no desire to go with a composite or ultradeck type material.

If you want a deck that won't rot and needs little maintenace go with Ironwood. We build high end homes and use alot of cedar, yes it takes some work but with a little hard work every 3-5 years it will last along time and look great.

I was looking at IPE/tigerwood and it's quite impressive. A little outside my budget and time frame for this build though (pushing to have deck completed by the 15th).

What treatment have you had the best experience with as far as cedar is concerned? I think this may be the option I will continue to pursue as the cedar tone stuff looks like it is being transitioned out.

Another bit of advice I am looking for, is how do you stagger your deck planks and how long would you recommend getting them for a 28' x 20' deck? The planks will run the long way, 28'. I was thinking of just loading up on 12' planks and staggering those, my joists are 16" OC.
