Skeeter FX20

TR21HP

Recommended Posts

Went for a ride this weekend in a friends new FX20 with a 250 SHO and the I am envious as can be. Does that thing ever move, handles like a dream and the ride is unbelievable. He had 6 hours on the motor so he could open it up. We hit 80.2 mph gps when the rev limiter shut it down. He's running a 27 Yamaha prop on it and I don't know if its enough. Great fit and finish, nice large, padded deck - absolutely beautiful boat. And all for a mere 58K!

80.2??? I saw the same boat this weekend at a tourney and going down stream(2mph flow) he only hit 73 and some change. 80 mph seems a bit steep...........but I guess its always possible. The elite guys arent even getting those kinda numbers. I'm just sayin'

Most of the elite guys are running 21 footers and tourney loads. We had no tackle in the boat, empty livewells and only a half tank of gas. Might make up the difference.

Man thats flyin. How does the skeeter handle goin that fast? Does it get into a bad chine walk at all. Anyway that would have been a fun ride. Heard a lot of good things about the new YAMI SHO.

haha nice. I liked randy howells remark at the Classic. He was up at weigh in and he was thanking the people from triton and mercury and he said he wish he would have caught as many bass as he did yamahas. I got a good laugh out of that one.

I really don't believe the SHO is any faster than a comparable Pro XS. Where it is quicker is in the midrange from 40 -45. You put the petal down and it actually snaps you back into the seat. No chine walk at all, a lot of that has to do with the driver of course, but it handles like a dream. The main advantage is that its a 4 stroke vs. 2 stroke.
