Boat Trailer

Does anyone know the process for registering a boat trailer or if it needs to be done when purchasing a new boat from out of state? I bought a small boat and trailer from someone in MN, and will be using the rig in WI. The trailer had a lifetime liscense in MN. Thanks for any help

I'm not sure what's required... I think it's as straight forward as taking the trailer title card to the licensing place in WI and they'll get you fixed up.

I don't know about there but here in Indiana, because I bought my boat in IL, I had to either have the local police complete a H.I.N./V.I.N. check (fill out an affidavit) or physically take the boat/trailer to the local DMV so they can verify it.

I believe WI has no registration for trailers under 3000lbs, so you need to do nothing, besides removing the MN stickers, but a quick visit to your DMV office will clear the situation.
