Adding a up/down switch to trim/tilt

On the rear of my new to me boat, I have a push button switch that will raise my motor. I want to change this to a 3 way sitch, so I have an up and a down. My question I guess, is what does each of the colored wires do? I have read back through the last 5-6 pages of posts, and have seen mention of the 3 colored wires, so which is up, which is down, and which is ground?

Boat is a Lund Pro V. 1988 model

Blue is up.

Green is down

Red is the power supply.

There will be no ground, that is done through solenoids or relays. The trim motor turns in both directions depending on which button you push and where the current is sent.
