Fishing Crane and Namikan

I'm going up to fish Crane Lake and surrounding Lakes at the beginning of June to fish for Walleye mostly. In past years we've had tough luck fishing Namakan and Kabetogama... Crane was slightly more fruitful, but still struggled to catch our limit most days. We were mostly fishing with minnows and jigs...

I guess I'm just looking for some advice on how to fish the lake... its a lot of lake to cover and I'm hoping for more of a focused strategy when we go up this year. We're not novice fisherman, but not too much above either. Aside from looking at topo maps, using GPS and fish finders, what's the best way to find the elusive walleys on the Rainy River System?

Thanks smile

I have only been up there once but we found a bay called Johnson bay where there is a waterfall. If you fish in that bay with the current you probably can find some Walleye. We caught quite a few there but we went in the end of June.

Good Luck!
