gardn184
Just a question for you experienced jig makers out there. I've been using the powder based paints for awhile now because thats what my grandpa gave me with his jig molds. Is the liquid stuff better or should I just stick with the powder coat? hydro
Stick with the powder coat and use a heat gun. If you want, you can try baking them to make the paint harder, just put some foil under them in case they drip in the oven.
ddsbyday
It just depends how much detail and durability you want. If you want to use multiple colors the powder paints are harder to master. Single colors are easy with powders. If you don't cure them the paint will chip easily. The vinyls are easy to use and very durable. One big advantage to the powders is they are worm proof.(don't react with plastic tails) The vinyls need to be coated with a sealer if plastics are going to be used. For me I paint hundereds of lures-I prefer the vinyl paint. I use both though.
