5/8" rollers with 1/2" shaft

CALVINIST

Question

I want to upgrage the black rubber keel rollers on my trailer with the yellow ones that have a much harder material. The problem is, I can't find the rollers I need in 1/2".

This is probably a stupid question, but I am wondering if putting the smaller 1/2" shaft on the slightly larger 5/8" rollers would cause any problems?

Thanks in advance,

Casey

Why not install some 5/8" to 1/2" bushings or even 5/8" O.D. aluminum or stainless tubing that takes that 5/8" I.D. hole down to a 1/2" I.D.? Should be easy enough to find, it's just 1/16" thick wall tubing. Here's another possibility, Drill out the holes in your brackets and put in new, unrusted 5/8" bolts with nylock nuts? Phred52
