An early spring grass anology

This of the grass like this, this time of year.

Just like you wake up in the morning, it takes a while to get going.

Sure the snooze alarm goes off, but you don't immediately sit up in bed, you stir, roll over, maybe hit the snooze again for another 10-15 minutes of sleep.

This is what the grass is doing right now. Yes, some has turned green, but ALL of it needs to turn green. The green is what allows the sun's energy to be absorbed by the plant, turning it into nutrients.

You wouldn't immediately have your wife shove a cup of coffee down your throat the second the alarm goes off to get you going in the morning, which is the same reason you don't spread fertilizer yet.

You take a while to get in the shower, ie kicking the covers off of the bed. Same thing with raking the grass, getting the layers off so the grass is ready for the water.

You don't want a cold shower, you wait for the water to warm up. Well, some of you younger guys might need a cold shower, but that's for a different forum.

Once the water's warm, you wash everything down, you get ready for the day. Same thing with the grass. Once its environment warms up, it's ready for the summer and everything you send its way.

Once you're ready for the day, you have your cup of coffee, some have that first smoke. Some will do it before the shower.

Just don't do it while you're still in bed, waiting for that second snooze alarm to go off.
