-Marc V-
I'm curious about Alumacraft Phantom boats. They are listed as a "bass boat" but seem to have somewhat of a V on their back end. Wondering if one of these boats would handle bigger waves a little better because of the V, or if theyll handle bigger water. Thanks for any help. BoxMN
I have ridden and driven them. They have a good hull that cuts pretty well. The thing about them that makes them maybe not as much a "rough water" boat is that the decks are high like a bass boat. Meaning there is only so much space in the cockpit, and the rest is pretty high in front deck and rear deck. But as far as taking rough water, they would take anything most people would go out in, IMHO. If it gets real rough, then like any boat, you just need to observe and be wise, and not go past your or the boats limit. But I would not hesitate taking it on Mille Lacs or Pepin or any lake. Most of my experience in one is on Whitefish, which can get quite rough from waves and BIG boat wakes.Good luck.
