Transom Savers

I'm not even going to touch the "opinion" part of this conversation, because frankly, I'm not enough of an engineer to explain or understand the physics of it. I will however state fact, as fact is unable to be argued with. In the 25 years that we've been repairing boats and replacing transoms, we've never replaced a transom for a customer who used a transom saver.

There is alot of variables to consider for the people that didn't use a transom saver. Did they tow with the motor all the way up, using the motor tilting lock? Did they tow all the way down and let thier motor flop around? Was it mostly fiberglass boats or aluminum? How many transoms needed fixing in the 15-25hp range the poster asked about? Not bashing savers at all, but I think with a little common sense, there are other alternatives also. Junky....
