Hoffer
So, I have a 2004 merc 75HP. It was always well taken care of by the prior owner and I have had it for 2 full Summers. I do all the stuff in the Fall like fogging, changing lower unit oil etc...In the Spring I usually just change the plugs and thats about it. However, I am heading to canada again this Spring for about a week - and would like to make sure everything is running smoothly.I was thinking about bringing it in for a Spring tune up. But what would "they" do that I dont? Do you guys usually get a Spring tuneup done? If so, what is a decent price to look for? I have no idea? Thanks for any advice and feedbackHoffer
harvey lee
Every other year I take my boat to a dealer to have the fuel filters checked and changed. Then I also have them check the water pump and also check the computer for any codes. If they do not find any codes, then I feel its ready to go.I typically change plugs every year, grease it, pack wheel bearings and pull the prop to check for fishing line. Then I wash and shampoo the carpet and wax the boat, motor and trailer.I also check the winch strap and also the two straps from the trailer to the boat in tha back.
