Scott K
Every year about this time, I get baseball fever. I want to see the Twins play, but they dont televise hardly anything. I have been wanting to go down and catch a couple spring training games, but when spring comes, I just never get down there to do it, for several different reasons. This year is no different. Who has been down there to see a game, is it as cool as I think it would be? Would you do it again? Do you go there just to see the Twins, or do you do a bunch of other tourist stuff when you are there. I think if I plan it more in advance, I may actually get there next year. DonBo
My wife and her sister were there last year and had a blast. Did some touristy things, but mostly just enjoyed the warm sunshine. I was NOT invited. She would love to go back, hope I can join her.
eskay
Been there a few times over the years. My folks live in Cape Coral, just over the bridge, so it's easy for me to catch a game or two if I'm down there. You used to be able to just walk up to the gate and get tickets, now it's busier since they have a good team. I think the Twins sell tickets on their HSOforum. Lots of games with the Red Sox, they're just across town. It's fun to watch the young guys trying to make the team. You used to be able to wander around and watch different players working their positions on non-game days, don't know if you can do that anymore. But it does get hot in the mid-afternoon on the full sun bleachers. Not a lot of touristy things to do in the area, but lots of nice beaches and some good fishing available. The dog track is about an hour south in Naples, and if you need a hockey fix, the Everblades play in between Fort Myers and Naples. Lots of spring ball in the area, check out the Grapefruit League for more info.

Scott K
Are any of the early spring training games televised? Does MLBTV televise them? I have a need to see Twins baseball soon, like tomorrow!

Today is Pirates vs Yankees. Hey, it may not be the Twins but its giving me my fix since I cant make it to Ft Myers!
Scott K
I watched part of it. I have to wait until the 13th, oh well. 1500 comes in at my house sometimes when it is cloudy out, otherwise it is more annoying trying to figure out as it cuts in and out so much

Used to get the Twins games half way across So. Dakota. Now can't even get it across the St. Croix River into Wisconsin. Forget about it up at the lake, only an hour away from the metro. I prefered the CCO broadcast too. There are 78 stations on the Twins radio network spanning all of Minnesota and the 5 state area. I'd say 95%+ of the state has coverage on one station or another. Check out the coverage map and affiliate station #s.... http://minnesota.twins.mlb.com/min/schedule/trn.jsp
Fishprobe
The bigger problem is most of these are small AM stations and in the evening they cut power and the signal goes down hill. At least CCO you could pick them up in the outstate.
Scott K
I agree, worst move of the Twins, was to move to 1500. I used to be able to listen to the Twins games, way down in the river bottoms at late night, now if I am lucky, during the day I can pick up some of the game when on top of the hill. I had to get MLB live, and listen to it off of my cell phone.

The one station I can get at the lake (sometimes) plays HS Football on Friday nights in the fall I mean come on, are you a Twins Station or not? Scott K
It was a nice game by our pitchers, maybe our pitching staff will be a strong point this season? I doubt it though. But they have 2 good games behind them so far!

Most of the Twins pitchers aren't pitchers-they are throwers, they throw the ball and hope-defense makes the play and usually its a tough play.(speaking for past years) I hope this year the young throwers become pitchers.
