Big Buddy Leak

Nuts4Fishin

Question

Hey guys-

I've got a BigBuddy that seems to be leaking and I don't know where to start looking for a fix. If I go out fishing for a couple hours on a couple fresh 1lb tanks and just shut it off when I'm finished they are empty when I come back to it the next weekend. I know I haven't used it all up and if I leave it in the portable house with the cover on---oh boy--does it stink when I take the cover off. Anybody else had a problem with theirs or where do I start looking for a leak?

Thanks for the help.

Mix up some dish soap and water to pour or spray on the fittings. It will bubble where the leak is.

Yep, spraying is probably your best bet...get an empty 409 or Windex sprayer and filler' up with dish soap. Spray liberally and watch for the bubbles.

My first one that I bought leaked out the small pinhole on the top of one of the regulators inside the doors. I could smell it before even starting it and I could hear the leak as well. I sent it right back to Mr Heater and they sent me another refurbished model. Mine was under warranty at the time.
