Nikon 5000 with Tamron 18-270mm VC

Will this make a good pairing? I like the features on the 5000 and thought this lense would make a good all around camera?

Don't know a lot about cameras would appreciate any info. good and bad. Thanks

I have a Tamron 18-270 VC lens. I got to use as a walk around travel lens to go with my wifes Nikon D60. So far we have been happy with this lens it has a great zoom range and good image quality. If you're just starting out this would be an acceptable pairing. I still tend to use my other lenses when I have the space to bring multiple lenses along with me. But if space is tight I'll bring this lens and a fast prime like the Nikon 35mm 1.8. Good luck with your choice and I hope we get to see some of your pictures on here soon.
