Calling electrician guys

I'm cleaning out the shop attic and found a roll of wire labeled:

Type SE cable Type XHHW 600 volt. Its 3 wire, 6 gauge Aluminum

its around 90 to 100 feet.

I'm not sure (cant remember) where I aquired it because there is nothing like it in my home. (I wired it)

I've heard conflicting things about the safety of aluminum wire. Is it worth selling, keeping for a future project or should I just turn it in for the scrap value?

if there is nothing visibly wrong with the wire Id say keep it or try to sell it.use an OHM meter to determine good continuity of the wire. That type of wire is used in high voltage commercial applications suitable for wet or dry locations with varying temp rating for different application. Nothing wrong with AL conductors IMO. with the proper care of brush and paste so they dont rust. cheaper alternative to copper. Not sure what AL scrap prices are but worth looking into i suppose. if your not going to ever use it why keep it?

I'd sell it for scrap, but that's me. Type XHHW is for wet locations, SE stands for Service Entrance. What you have there was more than likely used to direct bury feed a small sub panel somewhere.
