Updates on a Lowrance HDS5X

I went to the Lowrance site to do an update and it says I can't directly download to an SD card. I, instead have to download to another HDS unit and download remotely to this unit. Am I reading this wrong? That can't be right is it?

You need to use another standard HDS unit and ethernet cable to update your HDS-5X <NOTE-This is only for the HDS-5"X"- which is a sonar only unit.>

Download the update from Lowrance's site and install it on a SD card. Load that software into the unit you are using to install the update. After it loads, connect the ethernet cable to your HDS "X" unit and power it up. The update should automatically load.
